Here are some notes on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, college and the European leagues.
*RW Matej Stransky (sixth round/2011) scored two goals Saturday night for Saskatoon of the Western Hockey League to run his goal scoring streak to seven games. Stransky, who has 10 goals during the streak, has registered points in 22 of his last 26 games and has 40 points (19 goals, 21 assists) during that stretch. For the season, he has 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) in 34 games.
*C Mike Winther (second round/2012) had one goal and one assist in three games over the past week for Prince Albert of the WHL. Winther has 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 32 games this season.
D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) picked up two assists in four games over the past week for Victoriaville of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Vance, who has 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) in his last 6 games, has 15 points (3 goals, 12 assists) in 33 games this season.
*G Maxime Lagace (free agent signing) has won five of his last six decisions for P.E.I of the QMJHL. Lagace is 9-6-1 this season with a 3.93 goals against average and .870 save percentage.
*LW Curtis McKenzie (sixth round/2009) had one goal and one assist in two games for Miami University this weekend. McKenzie, a senior, ranks third on Miami in scoring with 12 points (5 goals, 7 assists) in 16 games.
*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) scored his second goal of the season as UMass-Lowell defeated Harvard, 5-0, last week. Sinitsyn, a freshman, has 2 goals and a plus-2 rating in 8 games this season.
*C Scott Winkler (third round/2008) did not pick up any points in two games for Colorado College this weekend. Winkler, who has 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in 20 games, is tied for seventh in the nation in goal scoring.
*After being scratched in the University of Michigan’s last two games, LW Alex Guptill (third round/2010) played in both games for Michigan this past weekend. He did not register any points. Guptill, a sophomore, has 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) in 15 games this season.
*RW Brett Ritchie (second round/2011), C Radek Faksa (first round/2012), LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) and D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) are all with their World Junior teams. Ritchie was named to Canada’s final roster for the tournament last week. Faksa (Czech Republic), Molin (Sweden) and Lindell (Finland) are all attending selection camps.
*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) remains out with an upper body injury for Seattle of the WHL. He hasn't played since October 20.
*Most of the European leagues have been on a break, so players in the Swedish Elite League and Finland’s top league have not played over the past week.
