A Spasm of Success

So what are we witnessing?

Is this the embryonic stage of a late season charge into a playoff spot?

Or are our Stars 2.0 merely having a good week?

Are they succeeding - like many have before them - because the weight of expectation has been removed?

Are playoff bound opponents looking down their noses at a Stars team that was a ‘seller’ at the trade deadline and thus getting popped because of their arrogant approach?

Was Jaromir Jagr a well-intended (and productive) cement block chained to the ankle of the Stars team game?

Was Jagr a negative influence on Jamie Benn’s style of play? Is that possible?

Was the “My Two Dads” nature of having two 40-something year old leaders (Jagr and Whitney), whose philosophies differ, bridling the growth of the group and sending mixed messages?

Did Derek Roy’s presence and price tag cramp the contributions of other centers Eakin and Fiddler?

Why wasn’t Chiasson here earlier?

Was there a veiled “diva” component to the Stars top-end chemistry issues?

Is Gulutzan more comfortable with a young, blue-collar team than veteran, “star”-laden lineups?

Are days at the beach better game prep than a few hours on the ice?

You have to admit; they’ve got us all thinking. And hoping. And believing?
