Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed free agent center Chris Mueller to a one-year contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mueller, 27, split the 2012-13 regular season between Nashville and the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. He posted five points (2G-3A=5P) in 18 NHL contests with Nashville, including his first career NHL goal on March 19 at Columbus. In 55 games played for Milwaukee, where he served as the team's captain, he finished third on the team with 36 points (18G-18A=36P) and second in goals.
Entering his sixth full season of professional hockey, Mueller has recorded eight points (2G-6A=8P) in 37 career regular season NHL games. He has also skated in 323 career AHL contests for Milwaukee, Lake Erie and Grand Rapids, posting 189 career points (92G-97A=189P). Mueller has registered 17 career points (8G-9A=17P) in 25 career Calder Cup Playoffs games.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound native of West Seneca, N.Y. was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Nashville on Dec. 27, 2010.
