Here are some notes on Dallas Stars prospects playing in juniors, Europe and college.

*C Gemel Smith (fourth round/2012) ran his season-opening points streak to seven games, picking up points in each of Owen Sound’s three games in the Ontario Hockey League over the past week. Smith has 14 points (ten goals, four assists) in seven games this season. He leads the OHL in goals and is tied for the league lead in points.

*C Radek Faksa (first round/2012) ran his goal scoring streak to three games, scoring two goals in Kitchener’s 4-2 loss to Owen Sound in the OHL on Saturday. Faksa has scored six goals in four games since returning to Kitchener from Dallas Stars training camp.

*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) scored one goal in three games over the past week for Guelph of the OHL. Dickinson has seven points (three goals, four assists) in six games.

*LW Nick Paul (fourth round/2013) picked up three points (one goal, two assists) in his last two games for North Bay of the OHL. Paul, who has registered points in four of his last six games, now has seven points (four goals, three assists) in nine games this season.

*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) was suspended for two games by the Western Hockey League for checking from behind and did not play for Kamloops the past week.

*C Mike Winther (second round/2012) could be out for a while for Prince Albert of the WHL. He is listed as week-to-week with a lower body injury.

*RW Branden Troock (fifth round/2012) missed Seattle’s game in the WHL on Sunday due to injury.

*D Troy Vance (fifth round/2011) ranks eighth among Quebec Major Junior Hockey League defensemen in scoring with seven points (three goals, four assists) in seven games played. Vance has three multi-point games for Charlottetown this season.

*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) has won three of his last four decisions for Rimouski of the QMJHL, posting a 2.13 goals against average and .912 save percentage during that stretch.

*D John Klingberg (fifth round/2010) is tied for ninth among Swedish Hockey League defensemen in scoring with five points (two goals, three assists) in eight games. Klingberg leads Frolunda in average ice time this season at 22:04 per game.

*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) picked up his first point of the season, assisting on the game-winning goal as Farjestad defeated AIK, 3-1, in the Swedish Hockey League last Wednesday. Bystrom is averaging 16:23 of ice time per game this season.

*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) picked up his first point of the season, assisting on the game-winning goal as Brynas defeated Lulea, 3-1, in the Swedish Hockey League on Saturday.

*The college hockey season gets underway this week, but LW Alex Guptill (third round/2010) could miss the first couple games for the University of Michigan. Coach Red Berenson told local media Guptill may sit out a game or two due to off-ice issues during the offseason.
