It looks like it will be Kari Lehtonen vs. Ondrej Pavelec in goal tonight when the Dallas Stars take on the Jets in Winnipeg tonight.

This will be only the second time Lehtonen has faced his former team. He stopped 29 of 30 shots when the Stars beat the then Atlanta Thrashers, 6-1, in January of 2011.

Pavelec is 2-1-0 in his career against the Stars with a 4.50 goals against average and .871 save percentage. Pavelec was in net last night, stopping 28 of 30 shots when the Jets lost 2-1 at Minnesota.

The Stars haven’t played since Saturday, when they defeated the Washington Capitals, 2-1, at American Airlines Center. The time off gave the Stars some time to work on things and they should be well-rested, but there are still some concerns with the long break.

“Initially, you think about a little bit of rust,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “Those one-on-one situations are hard to simulate in practice, and you’ve got to be ready for them. When teams have played or have played more games you are usually into the combat situations.”

Coming into tonight’s game, the Stars’ two games played are the fewest in the NHL.
