With the Stars struggling to generate opportunities at times in Friday’s 3-2 overtime loss to Colorado, coach Lindy Ruff went into full line juggling mode.
Ruff started moving things around in the first period. He had Ray Whitney on the top line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. Antoine Roussel took Whitney’s spot on the second line with Cody Eakin and Alex Chiasson.
“Trying to get a little bit of a spark, get some energy with some workers on some different lines,” said Ruff. “I thought the work we put in the last two periods was good.”
Later in the game, Rich Peverley moved up to the top line with Benn and Seguin and that line produced both Dallas goals in the game.
Quotable: Semyon Varlamov
“I think I am the luckiest guy in the world because I play in the NHL and I play for this team. I’ve got such good teammates, so I don’t think about what’s happening. Like I said before, no comments on that, so I think I felt very comfortable today and the team and I played a good game.”
