About the Stars
The Stars (6-6-2) are coming off a 4-3 shootout win in Ottawa on Sunday. The Stars had a 2-0 lead in the game and then a 3-2 lead, but gave up a goal with 9.3 seconds left in regulation that forced overtime.
"We're going to have to learn how to win. Again, we made it tough on ourselves,” Stars coach Lindy Ruff said. “We’re going to have to fix a few of those mistakes that we made and get a greater understanding of when you are up 2-0 in a game what kind of opportunities you want to give up.”
“I have no idea what to expect, but I am excited,” Seguin said after Monday’s practice in Boston. “I saw some of the guys when I got in yesterday and it’s going to be a cool experience.”
“It’s a lot of fun coming back. It’s a great city and it was home for three years,” Peverley said. “I loved being here and it will be fun playing tomorrow night.”
Kari Lehtonen is the likely starter for the Stars.
About the Bruins
The Bruins (8-5-0) are coming off a 3-1 loss at the New York Islanders on Saturday. It was the third loss in the last four games (1-3-0) for the Bruins, who had won seven of their first nine games.
"I don't know what you want to call it, but I call it not good enough," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "There's no way in the world you should come in here and play the way you play. We're not competing hard enough. We're just not good enough right now. You see the difference in the team that beat you tonight. The energy and the effort that was put in compared to us … sometimes you think you're working hard, but you're not, so we've got to certainly rectify that and try and get our team back on track. Talent alone is not going to win you hockey games."
Bruins forward Loui Eriksson, who has been out since October 23 with a concussion, practiced with the team Monday and went through contact drills. Eriksson, who was acquired by Boston in the Tyler Seguin deal, is a game day decision.
Reilly Smith, also acquired in the Seguin deal, has 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists) in 13 games for Boston this season.
Injuries: RW Loui Eriksson (concussion) is questionable. D Johnny Boychuk (upper body) is day to day.
