| Cody Eakin (CO-dee EE-kihn) is entering his second NHL season and his first as a member of the Dallas Stars. Eakin comes to the Stars with a reputation as a solid two-way player having previ- ously played in the Washington Capitals’ system. He made his NHL debut on Nov. 1, 2011 against the Anaheim Ducks. In 30 games with the Capitals, Eakin earned 4 goals and 4 assists with a plus-2 rating. Prior to his professional career, Eakin played for the WHL’s Kootenay Ice where he helped lead the club to the WHL championship in 2011. His best season in the WHL came in 2009- 10, when he led the Swift Current Broncos in scoring with 47 goals, 44 assists, totaling 91 points in 70 games. Personal
