Brenden Dillon (BREHN-duhn Dill-uhn) is entering his first NHL season. Dil- lon spent a majority of the 2011-12 campaign playing for Dallas’ AHL affiliate in Austin, the Texas Stars. With Texas, he was the second-highest scoring defenseman, posting six goals, and 23 assists (29 points) in 76 games. Prior to his professional hockey career, Dillon skated four seasons for the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds. A late bloomer, Dillon was listed at 5-foot-2 at age 15. By the age of 17, he was 5-foot-11. Today, he is a stodgy 6-foot-3. Largely due to his size his draft year, he was not selected by any clubs. Dallas Stars Director of Player Personnel Les Jackson later scouted him and was impressed by his game. Dillon then signed a contract with the club on March 1, 2011.
