FRISCO, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced tonight the official playoff schedule for the club’s 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals match-up with the San Jose Sharks. The Stars are the number five seed in the Western Conference while the Sharks are the number two seed. San Jose has home-ice advantage as the higher seed, as the series is a best-of-seven games, played in a 2-2-1-1-1- format. Detroit will play Colorado in the other Western Conference Semifinal match-up.

Game One of the San Jose-Dallas series is this Friday, April 25 at HP Pavilion in San Jose with a 9:00 pm face-off (Dallas time – CDT). Game Two is slated for Sunday, April 27 in San Jose with an 8:00 pm start time (CDT). Both Games One and Two will be televised nationally and exclusively (including in DFW) on VERSUS.

The series will shift to Dallas for Games Three and Four. Game Three will be at American Airlines Center on Tuesday, April 29, at 6:30 pm. Game Four will also be played in Dallas on Wednesday, April 30, at 8:00 pm.

Game Five (if necessary) will be played in San Jose on Friday, May 2 (9:00 pm CDT), with a possible Game Six back in Dallas on Sunday, May 4 (8 pm). If a deciding Game Seven is played, it will be in San Jose on Tuesday, May 6 (9:00 pm CDT).

All playoff games for the Dallas Stars will be televised in the DFW Metroplex. The entire local television information for the series is expected to be announced on Wednesday. All Dallas Stars playoff games can be heard via radio on News/Talk 820 WBAP. TSN will broadcast the entire series nationally in Canada.
