Stars activate Erskine from IR: assign Daley to Utah

January 23, 2004

Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has activated defenseman John Erskine from the injured reserve list and assigned defenseman Trevor Daley to the Utah Grizzlies, the Stars' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Erskine, 23, has missed the last four games (Jan. 15-20) with a calf laceration suffered while on a conditioning assignment with the Grizzlies. In two games with Utah, he went scoreless with four penalty minutes. The 6-4, 215-pound defenseman has appeared in 80 games with the Stars over his career, posting two goals and two assists for four points with 170 penalty minutes. This season with Dallas, Erskine has tallied one assist with 79 penalty minutes in 31 contests.

Daley, 20, has appeared in 23 games with the Stars this season, registering one goal and five assists for six points. Making his NHL debut on Oct. 25 at Columbus, Daley recorded his first career NHL goal on Dec. 10 at Phoenix and his first career NHL point on Nov. 12 vs. Detroit. In 11 games with Utah this year, he has posted three assists. is the official Web site of DSE Hockey Club, L.P.  The Stars name and logos are registered trademarks of the NHL and the Stars.
