Tugnutt activated off IR; Ellis assigned to Utah

Dallas Stars' General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Ron Tugnutt from the Utah Grizzlies, the Stars' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL), and assigned goaltender Dan Ellis to the Grizzlies.
Tugnutt, 36, has appeared in five games with Utah this season, posting a 1-3-1 record with a 2.99 goals-against-average and a .894 save percentage. In five games this season with Dallas, he has posted a 1-3-0 record with a 2.57 goals-against-average and a .889 save percentage. The 5-11, 165-pound goaltender was acquired by Dallas from Columbus with a second round pick in exchange for a first round pick on June 18, 2002.
Ellis, 23, made his NHL debut on Feb. 18 at Los Angeles, stopping 25 of 28 shots in a 4-3 win. He has appeared in eight games with the Utah Grizzlies this season, posting a 2-5-0 record with a 2.17 goals-against-average and a .940 save percentage with one shutout. The 6-0, 185-pound goaltender has also played in 23 contests with the Idaho Steelheads of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). In those 23 games, Ellis has registered a 13-8-1 record with a 2.56 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage with two shutouts.
