Stars announce Round 1 Broadcast Schedule

The Dallas Stars announced today the club's television schedule for its 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Quarterfinals match-up with the Colorado Avalanche. Every game of the series will be televised in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

Three of the seven possible contests will be broadcast locally over the air on kdfi-27 (Channel 27), including the series opener on Wednesday, April 7 at Colorado (9 PM CDT). Other scheduled telecasts on kdfi-27 include Game Four in Dallas (Wednesday, April 14, 6:30 PM CDT), and Game Six in Dallas (Sunday, April 18, time TBA).

Fox Sports Net is scheduled to broadcast three of the games in the series: Game Two at Colorado (Friday, April 2, 8:30 PM CDT), Game Three at Dallas (Monday, April 12, 7 PM CDT), and Game Seven at Colorado (Tuesday, April 20, time TBA). Fox Sports Net provides quality regional, national, and international sports programming to over eight million cable subscribers in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico.

Game Five is scheduled to be telecast regionally on ABC (WFAA Channel 8 in DFW) from Colorado (2 PM CDT).

On the national television front, ESPN2 will televise four of the seven games (Games One, Two, Four, and Seven), while ESPN will broadcast Game Three. These games will be blacked out in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Six of the seven games of the series will be televised in Canada on TSN (only Game Six is not on TSN's schedule).

All Dallas Stars playoff games can be heard via radio on News/Talk 820 WBAP.

Forming the Stars broadcast team on both television and radio for the eighth consecutive year are Ralph Strangis and Daryl Reaugh. Strangis is in his eighth season as play-by-play announcer for the Stars after six seasons as the analyst. Reaugh, a former goaltender with Edmonton and Hartford, is in his eighth season in the Stars' broadcast booth as the color analyst.
