KERA, DALLAS STARS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCE 16 WINNERS OF 2004 'GUARANTY BANK/WHATABURGER STICK WITH WRITING' CONTEST
The Dallas Stars Foundation and KERA announced this week the winners of the 2nd Annual "Guaranty Bank/Whataburger Stick With Writing" story and illustration contest. A blue-ribbon judging panel of local educational and literary professionals selected 16 top entries submitted by more than 200 North Texas students in grades K-4. (List of winners below)
The "Guaranty Bank/Whataburger Stick With Writing" program is an extension of the established "Stick With Reading" incentive program, which encourages public and private school students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to develop the healthy habit of reading in their leisure time. The program is open to any North Texas student in grade K-4.
All of the winning authors will be honored during a private reception at the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco on June 6th. Each honoree will receive an official "Guaranty Bank/Whataburger Stick With Writing" backpack complete with writing and art supplies, as well as Dallas Stars and KERA prizes.
