DALLAS STARS SIGN ANTTI MIETTINEN TO TWO-YEAR CONTRACT
Club Signs Free Agent Wings Garrett Burnett and Mike Siklenka To One-Year Deals

FRISCO, Tex. -- Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club signed forward Antti Miettinen to a two-year contract, and free agent wings Garrett Burnett and Mike Siklenka to one-year contracts. Per club policy, no financial terms were disclosed.

"We are pleased to have Antti Miettinen under contract for the next two years," said Armstrong. "We're excited about his potential and we're looking forward to his contribution this season. Garrett Burnett brings an element of toughness and physicality to our club, and Mike Siklenka will add quality depth to the organization."

Miettinen, 25, played in 35 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League (AHL) last season, notching eight goals and 20 assists for 28 points. The 6-0, 190-pound forward missed 45 games from October 15, 2004 - January 22, 2005, with a shoulder injury. During the 2003-04 season with the Stars, Miettinen tallied one goal in 16 contests. His goal came in his second career NHL game on Oct. 11, 2003 at Nashville and was the game-winner. The Stars' seventh round selection (224th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft was the Finnish Elite League Player of the Year in 2002-03.

Burnett, 29, made his NHL debut by skating in 39 games for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2003-04, posting three points (one goal and two assists) with 184 penalty minutes, the ninth-highest PIM total in the league. The 6-3, 235-lb. left wing played in seven games for the Danbury Trashers of the United Hockey League in 2004-05, notching an assist and 48 penalty minutes. In 2002-03 with Hartford of the AHL, the native of Coquitlam, B.C., recorded six goals and one assist with 346 PIM in 62 games.

Siklenka, 25, appeared in 39 games with Klagenfurt AC of Austria last season, posting 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points with 156 penalty minutes. In 12 playoff outings, he tallied six goals and an assist for seven points with 44 penalty minutes. The 6-5, 225-pound right wing has played in two NHL regular season games with the Philadelphia Flyers (one game in 2002-03) and the New York Rangers (one game in 2003-04). In 128 career AHL games from 1999-04, Siklenka has tallied 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points with 288 penalty minutes.
