"Celena is a first-rate performer and an engaging person," said Strangis. "We're all excited to have her as part of the Dallas Stars family." Blessed with a fantastic voice and beautiful smile, Rae auditioned for America's top reality TV show, American Idol, in the summer of 2004. Out of the 103,000 people that auditioned, Celena made it to the final 10 girls in the entire competition.
Rae has been singing since she was six years old, starting her professional singing career at age 19 with Linder and Brock, a Dallas/Ft. Worth based cover band. Her first big break came at 23, when she was cast on Dick Clark's version of Star Search called Your Big Break. Rae won the grand prize on the show, which included a recording contract with Lyric Street Records in Nashville. After working with Lyric Street, Celena collaborated with the award winning producer/song writer Dan Huff on a production deal with his company Terecel Music.
"I'm a huge hockey fan and am very excited to be working with my hometown team -- the Dallas Stars," said Rae. "It's been a pleasure working with everyone in the organization and I am looking forward to the most electrifying Dallas Stars season ever." Celena Rae continues to work on her music career with her band in Dallas. Miss Rae recently signed a recording deal and is preparing to release her debut album with plans to begin touring nationally in 2006. In addition to being the regular anthem singer at Stars home games, the team plan to have Celena perform concerts, make personal appearances, and help in the promotion of the Dallas Stars.
