The Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers in conjunction with Mix 102.9 officially launched the 2008 “Jingle Jet” to the North Pole last week, all to help give five local families a little more special.
The families boarded the new Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers Stars Boeing 757 at Love Field and “traveled” to the North Pole (actually taxiing to a special hanger that was decorated up as the North Pole). Santa and Mrs. Claus were waiting inside as each family was presented with their own Christmas tree, gifts and holiday trimmings. The families chosen for this experience were nominated by family members and friends who sent submissions to The Morning Mix with Tony Zazza and Victoria Snee.
Dallas Stars Ice Girls joined Texas Rangers pitcher John Rheinecker and his wife Janeen, as well as the Rangers Ball Girls in greeting families when they arrived. In total, five little boys and eight little girls were transported to the North Pole for this special event.
Other sponsors for the Jingle Jet include Wal-Mart, Calloway’s Nursery, Build a Bear Workshop, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon and Spa, Café Brazil and Paradigm Air.
