Smile, and the world smiles with you. Make a child smile, and the world smiles upon you.
Dallas, February 22, 2008: The Dallas Stars have partnered with the Smiles for Life campaign to bring an exciting ticket offer to all Dallas Stars fans for the game on Friday, February 22nd against Edmonton. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to this game and have a portion of the proceeds directly benefit underprivileged children in the Dallas community. The Smiles for Life Foundation is the children’s charity organization of the Crown Council, an organization of leading-edge dentists throughout North America.
Each year, from March 1 through June 30, Crown Council dentists participating in the Smiles for Life campaign offer teeth whitening services at a discounted rate and donate 100% of the cost to children’s charities across the United States and Canada. Currently 50% of the money raised from each dental office is contributed to a local charity and 50% is contributed to national initiatives through their partners at the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation, the official children’s charity of the NHL and NHLPA. This year, the Dallas Stars Foundation has been chosen as the Smiles for Life local charitable recipient.
“We are delighted that Smiles for Life has chosen the Dallas Stars Foundation as the recipient of their local charitable efforts and know that many young lives will benefit as a result of this partnership,” stated Carla Rosenberg, Executive Director Dallas Stars Foundation.
The Dallas Stars encourage all fans to visit participating Smiles for Life dentists to have their teeth whitened at a reduced rate and help raise money for the Dallas Stars Foundation, as well as many noble charitable partner organizations through the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation. Each dollar raised works towards building a better future for today’s youth.
“Smiles for Life is a win-win situation,” explains Greg Anderson, director of the Crown Council and one of the founders of the Smiles for Life campaign. “Patients get a brighter smile, our member dentists get the satisfaction of contributing to their community, and best of all, children who really need our help get a reason to smile.”
Discus Dental donates all the whitening materials, and Crown Council dentists donate their time and services. One hundred percent of the cost of whitening is contributed to the Smiles for Life Foundation. The Crown Council’s Smiles for Life Foundation has raised more than $23 million since 1998, benefiting over 500 children’s charities across North America.
