Q & A with Trevor Daley

DallasStars.com recently caught up with Stars defenseman Trevor Daley, chatting about his off-season, some of the Stars’ defensive additions and what is the best movie he’s seen so far this summer.

Trevor Daley Video Highlights
What are you doing to stay in shape this summer? Are you trying to bulk up or are you working on your conditioning?

Daley:
“I am not trying to do anything in particular, just trying to stay in shape and keep my strength up. I have been lifting and doing a lot of cardio.”

What do you think about Karlis Skrastins and Jeff Woywitka joining the Dallas Stars?

Daley:
“It’s exciting to see a couple new faces on the defensive side of things. I was actually roommates with Woywitka at World Juniors playing for team Canada, so I know him pretty well. He is a good player.”

What do you think about the Stars draft picks? Scott Glennie- Brandon\Alex Chiasson- Des Moines.

Daley:
“Scott is a good kid. We have been working out in the group together this week with the other young kids. I am obviously not a scout or anything but they chose the best available player at the 8th pick in the draft with him and I think he could live up to those expectations.”

What was draft day like for you in 2002? In hometown of Toronto. Family/Friends?

Daley:
“It was nerve-racking, a lot of fun and a lot of good memories. I had a hundred people there with me at the draft. It was a big party and a lot of fun.”

Are you planning any trips or have you been on vacation anywhere yet?

Daley:
“I am actually waiting on a baby to come at the moment (she’s due very soon). So it’s been tough to plan any trips. I guess I’ll have to plan trips around kids now.”

Have you seen any good movies this summer? Concerts, baseball games?

Daley:
“I love movies. I saw The Hangover this summer, it was one of the greatest movies I have seen in a long time.”

Are you planning on changing any equipment this year? New Sticks/gloves?

Daley:
“I might make a few changes. I'll have to wait and see though what comes out this upcoming season.”

Have you talked to New Head Coach Marc Crawford? What are your thoughts on him?

Daley:
“I had a couple good conversations with Coach Crawford. We talked about some new things and some different challenges that the team will have to go through. There have been some big changes around here already and we are looking forward to next season.”

What are your thoughts on Jere Lehtinen re-signing to stay with the Dallas Stars?

Daley:
“Lehts is really our un-sung hero. He has been one of our best players for a while now and I am really excited to have him back.”

Are you excited about the new video boards at the AAC?

Daley:
“I heard about them, I have not seen then yet though. It’s going to be great for our fans and we are really excited about them for next season.”
