Left Wing Played With AHL Iowa in 2005-06 After Stellar Career at Michigan Tech

FRISCO, Tex. -- Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has signed left wing Chris Conner to a two-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms were disclosed.

Conner, 22, played in 15 games for the Iowa Stars in the American Hockey League in 2005-06, notching five points (2-3-5). He also skated in all seven of Iowa's Calder Cup Playoff games, recording one goal and one assist for two points. After signing a minor league contract with Iowa, he netted a goal in his AHL debut on March 15, 2006 vs. Manchester.

The native of Livonia, Michigan, Conner tallied 29 points (17-12-29) in 38 games during his senior season at Michigan Tech University in 2005-06, good for the team-best in goals and points. In his four-year career at MTU, Conner registered 69 goals and 60 assists for 129 points in 151 games played. He ended his career with the Huskies as the school's all-time leader in shorthanded goals (15) and ranks 19th among goal-scorers (69) in MTU history.

The 5-8, 175-pound left wing led Michigan Tech in goals (25) and points (39) during his sophomore season of 2003-04, and was named to the All-WCHA Second Team, as well as a Third-Team All-America by
