Boucher out indefinitely after surgery

November 29, 2003

Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that defenseman Philippe Boucher underwent successful surgery on Saturday morning to repair a fractured left orbital bone, suffered in Friday night's home game vs. New Jersey. The surgery was performed by Dr. Grant Gilliland and Dr. Jeff Kenkel at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas, and included the placement of five plates and screws to help the fracture heal properly. Boucher sustained the injury late in the third period on Friday when he was hit in the face by the puck.

Boucher is out indefinitely and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. He is expected to make a full recovery.
