A look at the Dallas Stars’ top prospects in professional and junior hockey.
Texas Stars (AHL):
On Friday, Texas fell behind 1-0 in the first period before scoring three unanswered goals. Sergei Korostin tallied the game winner at 9:30 of the third period and Colton Sceviour added two assists. Despite being outshot 35-20, the Stars held on for a 3-2 victory. Brent Krahn made 33 saves, 18 of which were in the third period while the Stars were defending their lead.
On Saturday, the Stars trailed 1-0 again before Brad Lukowich scored the Stars’ lone goal early in the second period. The teams eventually went into a shootout tied at 1-1. Matt Climie stopped 30 of 31 shots in regulation, and three of four during the shootout. Texas’ shooters were 0-5 during the breakaway competition as Houston picked up the extra point.
The Texas Stars reassigned LW Michael Neal to the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL). Neal is the younger brother of Dallas Stars’ LW James Neal.
Goaltenders Matt Climie and Brent Krahn have split starts in the first four games this season, with each goalie picking up one win and one loss. Climie and Krahn have combined for a 1.93 GAA and a .943 save percentage.
Texas’ next game is Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against the Grand Rapids Griffins. The team will head back to Houston Saturday for another game against the Aeros.

Right Wing Tomas Vincour, the Stars’ 5th round pick (129th overall) in 2009 has scored 12 points (7-5-12) with 17 penalty minutes in 10 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL).
Goaltender Tyler Beskorowany, the Stars’ 2nd round pick (59th overall) in 2008 has already played in nine games this season for the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL). Beskorowany has a 5-4-0 record, with a 2.91 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
Center Tristan King has four goals and eight points in ten games for the Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL).
Defenseman Hubert Labrie has seven assists and 16 penalty minutes in 11 games with the Gatineau Olympiques (QMJHL).
