Brent Krahn Named AHL Goalie Of The Month

The American Hockey League announced Tuesday that Brent Krahn of the Texas Stars has been named the Reebok/AHL Goaltender of the Month for November.

In recognition of his achievement, Krahn will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Texas Stars home game.
In 12 appearances with Texas this season, Krahn has posted a record of 10-2-0 with three shutouts and he leads the league with a 1.41 goals-against average and a .958 save percentage, allowing 17 goals on 402 shots overall. A first-round draft pick (ninth overall) by Calgary in 2000, Krahn is 87-67-14 with 16 shutouts in 180 career AHL games. The 27-year-old Winnipeg native made his NHL debut with Dallas last season, appearing in one contest.
Other nominees for Reebok/AHL Goaltender of the Month include Adirondack's Johan Backlund, Albany's Justin Peters, Binghamton's Andy Chiodo, Bridgeport's Scott Munroe, Chicago's Peter Mannino, Grand Rapids' Daniel Larsson, Hamilton's Cedrick Desjardins, Hartford's Chad Johnson, Hershey's Michal Neuvirth, Houston's Anton Khudobin, Lowell's Mike McKenna, Manchester's Jonathan Bernier, Manitoba's Cory Schneider, Milwaukee's Chet Pickard, Norfolk's Riku Helenius, Portland's Jean-Philippe Lamoureux, Rochester's Alexander Salak, Rockford's Joe Fallon, San Antonio's Josh Tordjman, Toronto's James Reimer, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's John Curry and Worcester's Alex Stalock.
After a three-game road trip, the Stars will begin a four-game home stand on Wednesday, December 9th at 7:30 pm against the Peoria Rivermen.
