3.) Mike Ribeiro returned to the Dallas lineup Tuesday after missing 15 games with a throat injury that he suffered Jan. 6 at the New York Rangers. In his first game back, Ribeiro played 17 minutes against Chicago and scored the game’s first goal, helping the Stars secure a point against one of the West’s premiere teams. The 30-year-old center has 34 points in 44 games this season, and has led the Stars in scoring each of the last three seasons.
4.) Loui Eriksson is riding a four-game point streak, and has 43 points in his last 45 games (18-25-43). The 24-year-old winger is second to Brad Richards in team scoring with 54 points, and leads the team with eight special teams goals (6 power play goals, 2 shorthanded goals). Eriksson scored the game-tying goal with less than four minutes left in Tuesday’s game against Chicago to send the contest to overtime.
5.) Ones to watch for: Calgary’s Jarome Iginla and Daymond Langkow both reached the 1000-game milestone last week and will be honored in a ceremony before the game. Iginla, 32, was the Stars’ first round pick in 1995, but was traded to Calgary in the deal that brought current Stars’ GM Joe Nieuwendyk to Dallas. Iginla, who has spent his entire NHL career with the Flames, has 24 goals this season, and is the only player in the NHL with 30-plus goals each of the last eight seasons. Langkow, 33, is in his fifth season with Calgary after spending time with Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Phoenix. Langkow’s offensive numbers are down this year, but he still has a goal and an assist in the season series against Dallas.
