Burish placed on Injured Reserve; Wathier recalled

Frisco, Tex. – The Dallas Stars announced today that the NHL club has placed right wing Adam Burish on Injured Reserve with a facial injury, retroactive to Thursday, Feb. 3, when he suffered the injury at Boston. The team also announced that it has recalled left wing Francis Wathier from the Texas Stars, Dallas’ development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Burish, 28, has appeared in 52 games for Dallas this season, scoring seven goals and four assists for 11 points. The seven goals and 11 points are new career-highs. The native of Madison, Wisc., signed as a free agent with Dallas on July 1, 2010.

Wathier, 26, has appeared in one game for Dallas this season (Jan. 21 at Calgary). He has played in 44 AHL games for Texas this season, recording 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists). Wathier represented Texas at the AHL All-Star Game this past Monday in Hershey, Penn. He led the Western Conference with two goals and a +2 rating in the contest. The 6-3, 208-pound winger was Dallas’ sixth round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The Pacific Division-leading Stars take on the Flyers in Philadelphia on Saturday night, Feb. 5 (6:00 pm CT, TXA 21, Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket).
