FIVE THINGS TO WATCH:

1. The Dallas Stars meet for their third of six contests against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. The Stars trail the season series 0-2-0, and have lost the last four games against them overall. Dallas has scored three goals in the last three gamesagainst the Sharks.

Dallas is set to play their ninth back-to-back set on Wednesday (Anaheim) and Thursday (San Jose). The Stars have an overall record of 3-11-2 in back-to-backs this season with a 3-4-1 on the first day, and a 0-7-1 record on the second day.

The Dallas Stars have a 6-1-1 record since moving to Texas on Groundhog Day (Feb. 2) and a 9-6-2 overall franchise record on this date. Their last loss on this holiday came in 1996 when the Stars were defeated by the Canucks 4-5. The Stars have never won agame on Groundhog Day when Phil sees his shadow (early spring, 0-1-2 record).

Dallas is looking to snap a four-game losing skid against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. In those four games, the Stars have been outscored 6-21, allowing San Jose at least four goals in each contest. Dallas has never lost five-in-a-row to the Sharks.

The Stars have a 19-5-1 record this season when scoring over two goals in a game and a 6-16-1 record when scoring two-or-fewer.



WHO TO WATCH:

LOUI ERIKSSON
enters Wednesday night’s game against the Anaheim Ducks with a four-game point streak (1-3-4). Among players drafted in 2003, Eriksson is the only player in the top-30 of scoring who has 100-or-fewer penalty minutes over their career.
 
STEVE OTT
has more penalty minutes against the San Jose Sharks  (133) than any other club in his career.
 
MIKE RIBEIRO
has 16 goals in 41 career games against the Sharks. It’s the most goals he has against any NHL opponent.
