Ladies were treated to complimentary valet parking upon arrival, courtesy of Airport Valet and North Texas Audi Dealers, and were greeted on the concourse by team staff and NHL Alumni. American Airlines Center staff served samples of wines from the Constellation Wines portfolio and guests were then seated in the lower bowl of the arena for a special presentation by former Dallas Stars defenseman Brent Severyn. He used the center hung video board for explanatory videos and a team of skaters on the ice to explain topics such as positioning, line changes and matchups. After the demonstrations, Severyn opened it up for a spirited question and answer session.
Following the Q&A, one lucky lady was announced as the winner of lunch with Dallas Stars forward Adam Burish. After the presentation, everyone moved onto the ice for the remainder of the evening. Here, they could visit sponsor booths, get their photo taken under the star portal or in an Audi convertible or mix and mingle with friends. The Stars Foundation had a raffle with some fabulous prizes from event sponsors. Guests also had the opportunity to pick up a few shooting pointers from NHL Alumni Bob Bassen and Gerald Diduck. The Dallas Stars Ice Girls were also on hand for the evening, modeling women’s fashions from the Dallas Stars fan shops.
Perhaps the highlight of the evening was getting a sneak peek inside the Dallas Stars locker room. Attendees were able to get a glimpse of the Stars past, present and future as they marveled at the photos on the wall, main locker room area decked out with player gear and workout facilities. Stars’ Alum Richard Matvichuk was on hand, posing for pictures, signing autographs and showing off his Stanley Cup ring. Former NHL goalie Dan Blackburn and staff from the local Stars pro shop were also in the locker room to chat about player gear.
Overall, it was a fantastic night in which everyone involved had a great time.
