FIVE THINGS TO WATCH:

1. The Dallas Stars meet for their second contest of the season against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night. Dallas won the previous game against them 3-2 in overtime and are looking to win two in-a-row against them for the first time since Jan./Feb. 2009. The Stars have a 6-2-2 record in their last 10 road games and currently hold a four game winning streak away from Dallas. That’s the longest active road winning streak in the NHL.

2.
Dallas enters Tuesday’s contest with a 6-0-1 record over their last seven games and with a 7-1-2 record over their last 10 games overall (second only to Pittsburgh). They have been credited with three goals in each of the seven games (includes shootouts) and have killed off all but one opposition power play in that span (20/21, 95.2%). The Stars’ PK has gone from 21st to 11th in the NHL.

3.
The Stars are off to a dramatically different run in the games following the All-Star Break this season as compared to last season. In 2010-11, Dallas went 7-8-3 in 18 games after the break (17 points), dropping from third to seventh in the Western Conference. This season, the Stars have jumped from 10th to seventh, earning a 10-5-3 record (23 points).

4.
Dallas has not lost a game in regulation to a Canadian team this season, earning an 8-0-1 record in nine games against them. Their only loss was against the Toronto Maple Leafs in late November (3-4 L**). They also have a 10-3-0 record against Northwest Division opponents. Only the Vancouver Canucks have a better record against them with a 14-3-1 record.

5.
A regulation win by Pittsburgh against the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night would vault the Dallas Stars to the top of the Pacific Division for the first time since Dec. 27, 2011. Dallas and Phoenix would be tied in points, but Dallas would hold the second tie breaker (regulation/OT wins).

WHO TO WATCH:

LOUI ERIKSSON has recorded at least one point in three consecutive games against the Vancouver Canucks (2-2-4). He has nine points in his last nine games against them (4-5-9).

MICHAEL RYDER
has a point in six consecutive games (5-2-7). He has eight points in eight career games against Vancouver (5-3-8).

MIKE RIBEIRO
has points in nine of his last 10 games (3-9-12).
