Over 200 motorcycles lined the AT&T Plaza outside of American Airlines Center on Saturday, March 24, all in attendance for the Inaugural Steve Ott Biker Rally presented by Yamaha, with proceeds benefiting the Dallas Stars Foundation. Motorcyclists came from Oklahoma and even Canada to participate in the ride.

The day began at Hooters in Lewisville where the participants checked in and received their one-of-a-kind Steve Ott Biker Rally patch. Hooters provided breakfast tacos and Dunkin’ Donuts was on hand to provide coffee and donuts to everyone in attendance. Dallas Stars alumni Craig Ludwig and Richard Matvichuk were there to greet the participants and sign autographs. They, along with Butch Ott, Steve’s dad, led the rally which left Hooters and proceeded to the Dallas Stars game versus the Calgary Flames.

Upon arrival at the American Airlines Center, participants pulled into the AT&T Plaza to park their bikes while they watched the Stars defeat the Flames, 4-1. After the game, the participants were thrilled to find out that Ott was riding with them to the after-party at Strokers.  Ott was greeted by a thunderous applause from all of the participants when he arrived on the plaza post-game.

Once at Strokers, Ott was swarmed by fans all wanting photos and autographs. He was more than happy to oblige and signed autographs and took photos with everyone who wanted one. Also in attendance to support their teammate were fellow Dallas Stars Adam Burish, Brenden Morrow, Sheldon Souray, Eric Nystrom and Kari Lehtonen.

“It was a tremendous day,” said Ott. “I am overwhelmed with the amount of support. I’d like to thank all of the fans who came out today. It’s been awesome.”

To top off the day, all participants in the rally were automatically entered into a Dallas Stars Foundation raffle for a Steve Ott autographed jersey, a Dallas Stars team signed motorcycle helmet and a Yamaha V-Star 950 motorcycle. At the last minute Ott decided to throw in three game-used sticks that he will personally autograph for the winners.

The Inaugural Steve Ott Bike Rally was a huge success, grossing over $12,000 for the Dallas Stars Foundation.  Ott later tweeted, “What a day, for the first time in my life I might be speechless.”
