Dallas Stars sign Emil Molin to Entry Level Contract
The Dallas Stars have signed forward Emil Molin to a three-year entry-level deal
Frisco, TX – The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has signed forward Emil Molin (eh-MIHL, moh-LEEN) to a three-year, entry-level contract, through the 2014-15 season.
Molin, 19, skated in 34 games for Byrnas IF Gavle of the Swedish Elite League in 2011-12 scoring, 1 goal, 4 assists and 5 points. He was part of the team that won the Le Mat Trophy, which is earned annually by the victors of the Swedish Elite League. During that playoff run, he posted 1 assist and a plus-3 rating in 10 appearances. He also scored 15 goals, 27 assists and 42 points this past season for the Byrnas Under-20 club that operates in the Super Elite league.
The native of Gavle, Sweden has played in the Byrnas system since 2009-10. His best season came in 2010-11 when he scored 17 goals, 31 assists and 48 points in 20 contests in the U-18 Elite Byrnas program. That season, Molin earned a bronze medal for the club en route to earning the most assists (31) and overall points (48) in the U-18 Elite Western Conference.
The 6-foot-0, 176-pound forward was Dallas’ fourth-round selection (105th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Molin is scheduled to participate in this year’s Stars Summer Development Camp, which is slated to take place at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco from July 5-12.
