Razor With An Edge: 912

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

             - John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton

There is believed to be some 6.4 million people living in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Recently it was brought to my attention that I, Daryl Reaugh, known to most as 'Razor', born in northern British Columbia, son of a logger, father of two Texans, am the 912th most powerful person in DFW.

Let's just have that linger and settle in for a while...like a nice musk - or a rectum-rattling fart. Your choice.

Yes, apparently a list titled: 'DFW's Most Powerful Top 1,000' was compiled and I sway my clout at the number 912 spot. It was actually 910, seeing as two of the gentlemen ahead of me were listed in red as 'deceased'. (More powerful than a dead guy, woohoo!)

Still, it was only nine-hundred and eleven back of the number one name on the list; someone in Preston Hollow named Bush.

There were eight Dallas Stars related names that made the list - nine if you include former owner Tom Hicks at #7 (It was last updated in April of 2011):

  • Mike Modano 120
  • Brenden Morrow 216
  • Brett Hull 219
  • Jim Lites 347
  • Mike Ribeiro 524
  • Joe Nieuwendyk 751
  • Me 912
  • Brad Richards 936

A quick deconstruction of this 'list within The List' suggests a couple things:

  • The list compiler loves aggressive offense in his hockey power brokers. (I guess defense or defending is somehow submissive.)
  • Joe is listed way too low at 751. He's either traded, not re-signed, or replaced most of the individuals on it, so he could have 'I've Got The Power' by CC Music Factory as his walk into the office music

Anyway, what should a guy like me do with my newfound might?

Maybe before I start wielding my juice from atop the artificial, arbitrary and purely speculative high-horse this list has put me on, it'd be best to remember what my life coach, Thee Buddha once told me. We were in the hologram Himalayas when he pointed out that when one slips up from this height, "It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end."

Goongu ga loonguh.
