DALLAS STARS ANNOUNCE 2012-13 SEASON SCHEDULE
Team To Open At Home Against Phoenix on Jan. 19
The Dallas Stars will open the 2012-13 National Hockey League regular season, their 20th year in Texas and 46th in franchise history, at home against the Phoenix Coyotes, followed by a matchup with the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, Jan. 20 at Xcel Energy Center.

The Dallas Stars are celebrating 20 years in Dallas during the 2012-13 season with special events and commemorative merchandise, all honoring past and present players. The club will also wear a commemorative 20-year patch on its jerseys.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE STARS' 48-GAME SCHEDULE
The Stars are scheduled to play 48 games during the 2012-13 campaign with 24 contests at home and 24 on the road. This season's NHL schedule exclusively features conference play, with an emphasis on divisional matchups.
Dallas plays in the NHL's Pacific Division of the Western Conference, and will play 18 divisional games against rivals Anaheim, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Jose. The Stars will face off against Anaheim five times (three at home, twice away), as well as five matchups against Los Angeles (twice at home, three away), while the team will play Phoenix and San Jose four times each (twice at home, twice away).
The Stars will face off a total of 30 times against non-division Western Conference foes in the Central Division (Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Nashville and St. Louis) and the Northwest Division (Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton, Minnesota and Vancouver), with three games against each opponent.
Dallas will play two games at home and one on the road against Calgary, Chicago, Minnesota, St. Louis and Vancouver, while the Stars will host one home game and travel for two against, Colorado, Columbus, Detroit, Edmonton and Nashville.
The home schedule features 13 weekend contests (3 Friday, 7 Saturday, 3 Sunday) with three of them being weekend matinees (games at or before 5 p.m.):
Sunday, Feb. 17 vs. Calgary (2 p.m.)
Sunday, March 3 vs. St. Louis (2 p.m.)
Sunday, March 31 vs. Los Angeles (5 p.m.)
The Stars' longest home stand this season is five games, occurring from March 23-April 1 (Colorado, Minnesota, Minnesota, Los Angeles, Anaheim).
