Quick Recap: Stars 4, Coyotes 3 (SO)

The Dallas Stars snapped their four-game winless streak with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Friday night at American Airlines Center. Brenden Dillon had a goal and an assist for the Stars. Antoine Roussel and Michael Ryder also scored for Dallas. Jamie Benn and Jaromir Jagr tallied in the shootout. Kari Lehtonen stopped 31 of 34 shots in the game and three of four in the shootout. The win gave the Stars a 3-4-1 mark on the season.

Phoenix, which got a pair of goals from Martin Hanzal, fell to 2-5-1.

Stars defenseman Brenden Dillon picked up his first NHL point with an assist on the Antoine Roussel goal, and then tallied his first NHL goal a little more than two minutes later, scoring off a blast from the left point to give the Stars a 2-0 lead in the game. In the second period, after putting a hit on Phoenix defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Dillon was challenged by Coyotes forward Kyle Chipchura, and both players picked up fighting majors, giving Dillon the Gordie Howe Hat Trick.
