With Derek Roy returning, Stars look for more balanced attack
With Derek Roy returning from injured reserve for tonight’s nationally televised game against Colorado, Stars coach Glen Gulutzan is juggling his lines around in hopes of creating a more balanced attack.
Gulutzan is spreading his offensive weapons over three lines, instead of loading them up on the top two.
“With Ray (Whitney) out, Derek coming back in and the play of Cody Eakin, we’d like to play three lines, so we’ve kind of spread ourselves out,” Gulutzan said. “We wanted to get a little more ice time for Reilly Smith. We’ve got him with Ryder and Eakin. We’ve got Roy with Loui (Eriksson) and (Tomas) Vincour. We’ve got Jags (Jaromir Jagr, Benny (Jamie Benn) and (Brenden) Morrow together. We want to have a little bit more of a balanced attack.”
Eric Nystrom, Vernon Fiddler and Antoine Roussel are expected to be the fourth line.
