About the Stars

The Stars (8-6-1) wrapped up a three-game road trip with a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday. It was the fifth win in the last six games for the Stars (5-1-0). The Stars, who lost goaltender Kari Lehtonen in the first period to a groin injury, overcame a 3-1 deficit, scoring late in the second and then twice in the third to secure the victory.

“It was a big win for our team,” said Stars defenseman Brenden Dillon, who scored the game winner with 3:01 remaining. “We had a game plan we wanted to stick to. We were down 3-1 in this building. There was that buzz when Henrik (Sedin) got that record (Canucks franchise points mark), and you couldn’t even hear yourself think. It was a big win for us, especially with the roll they were on and playing in this building.”

The Stars, who have played 10 of their first 15 games on the road, begin a three-game homestand Sunday, and will play 14 of their next 20 games at American Airlines Center.

Lehtonen is expected to be placed on injured reserve on Sunday, meaning he’ll miss at least one week.

Richard Bachman, who stopped 18 of 21 shots in relief in the Vancouver win, is the likely starter on Sunday.

The Stars recalled goaltender Cristopher Nilstorp from the Texas Stars on Saturday.

Injuries: G Kari Lehtonen (groin) and LW Ray Whitney (foot) are out.
