Stars fall to Canucks, 4-3

The Dallas Stars were hoping to make the most of their current three-game homestand, but they are off to a rocky start. They lost their second straight at American Airlines Center this week, falling 4-3 to the Vancouver Canucks at American Airlines Center.

“I thought that our work ethic was strong tonight and we improved certainly some of the things we’ve had for a couple of days in practice but it’s a result-based business and we didn’t get the result,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan.

The loss was the third in the last four games for the Stars, who dropped to 8-8-1 on the season. Over the last four games the Stars have allowed 18 goals (4.5 per game). All those goals allowed by Dallas goaltenders other than Kari Lehtonen, who remains out with a groin injury. Not that everything is on the goaltending, but Lehtonen is 7-2-1 this season and Richard Bachman and Christopher Nilstorp are a combined 1-6-0.

On Thursday, Nilstorp got his third start of the season and his first since January 26. He allowed four goals on 22 shots.
