Stars notes: Power play work

The Dallas Stars have been scoring goals at a pretty good clip lately, but the power play hasn’t been providing much help.

The Dallas power play is 0-12 over the last three games, and it is ranked 21st in the league at 15.0 percent (9-60).

The Stars have scored on the power play in just three of the last eleven games, and are 5-40 (12.5%) during that stretch.

The Stars spent a lot of time on special teams in Friday’s practice. They used two power play units of four forwards and one defenseman, and it was pretty evident watching the drills what the Stars want to do.

“Shooting,” said Stars coach Gulutzan. “Shooting and net presence and don’t pass up shots. The other thing we stressed was work. We’ve got to recover pucks and get them to the D.”
