Quick Recap: Stars 3, Sharks 1

The Dallas Stars wrapped up their three-game homestand with a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks. Jamie Benn had a goal, assist and a fight for the Stars. Cristopher Nilstorp stopped 31 of 32 shots for his first NHL victory. Jaromir Jagr and Michael Ryder also scored for Dallas, who also improved to 9-8-1 on the season.

Gordie Howe Hat Trick for Jamie Benn

Jamie Benn became the second Dallas Star to register a Gordie Howe Hat Trick this season, picking up a goal, an assist and a fight. Benn fought Sharks captain Joe Thornton in the second, assisted on the Stars first goal of the night and then scored late in the third to seal the Stars victory.

Power play practice pays off

The Dallas Stars spent a lot of time on the power play in Friday’s practice and it paid off Saturday. The Stars scored twice on the power play in the game, and ended up 2-6 on the man advantage in the game. Jaromir Jagr and Michael Ryder scores the goal.
