Stars Activate Trevor Daley From Injured Reserve, Assign Carl Sneep to Texas Stars
The Dallas Stars announced today that defenseman Trevor Daley has been activated from injured reserve after suffering an upper body injury on Feb. 17 against Calgary. The team also assigned defenseman Carl Sneep to the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Daley, 29, has one goal, two assists, and 22 shots in 16 games for Dallas this season. Since playing his first NHL contest in the 2003-04 season, no Stars defenseman has played more games than Daley's 593 career NHL tilts. The native of Toronto, Ont. was Dallas' second-round selection (43rd overall) in 2002.
Sneep, 25, has split time between the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers and the AHL's Texas Stars this season. In 13 games with Texas, he has three points (1G-2A), six penalty minutes, and a plus-5 rating. He skated in his only NHL game on Dec. 17, 2011 against the Buffalo Sabres where he earned an assist and plus-1 rating in the contest.The 6-foot-3, 220-pound native of Brainerd, Minn. was Pittsburgh's second-round selection (32nd overall) in 2002. He was acquired by Dallas in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in this year's draft on Jan. 24, 2013.
