February by the numbers

Although the Dallas Stars hit a few bumps this past week, the month of February turned out pretty good for them. They put together an 8-5-1 record in the 14 games they played in 28 days.

Their .607 points percentage for the month was six best in the Western Conference. Chicago (.923), Anaheim (.917), Vancouver (.667), Los Angeles (.667) and Phoenix (.615) were the top five.

Statistically, it was a mixed bag for the Stars. Here are a few notes.

*The Stars were 5-2-1 on the road in February, and 3-3-0 at home.

*The Stars averaged 3.07 goals per game in February, making them the fifth highest scoring team in the league during the month.

*Goals against was a different story. They allowed 3.14 goals against for the month, ranking 25th in the NHL.

*Their .891 team save percentage also ranked 25th in the league.
