What does it tell us?

Well, last year Phoenix ended up winning the Pacific Division and then went to the Conference Final, while the Kings won the Cup. They were 8th and 11th respectively at mid-season. So I guess it tells us either jack squat, or it is strongly foreshadowing the Stars will win the Division and the Blues the Cup.

What it truly reveals is that Mike Babcock can really coach professional ice hockey.
