Quick Recap: Wild 7, Stars 4

The Dallas Stars fell to 1-1-0 on their current homestand, losing 7-4 to the Minnesota Wild Monday night at American Airlines Center. The Stars had leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 in the game, but the Wild rallied for the victory. Alex Goligoski, Jaromir Jagr, Trevor Daley and Philip Larsen scored for the Stars. Kari Lehtonen stopped 35 of 41 shots for the Stars, who fell to 15-14-3 on the season.

Turning point: Wild win on shorthanded goal

The Stars seemed to be in a prime position to take control of Monday’s game with a late power play chance. With the contest tied 4-4, the Stars went on a 4:00 power play with 7:42 remaining, but Minnesota’s Kyle Brodziak scored shorthanded 20 seconds into it to give Minnesota a 5-4. That goal proved to be the game-winner.

Wild snap losing streak in Dallas

The Minnesota Wild snapped a long run of futility in Dallas with their win Monday night. The Wild hadn’t won in Dallas since March 2003 and had dropped 16 straight decisions at American Airlines Center.
