About the Stars

The Stars (16-14-3) are coming off a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild Friday at American Airlines Center. The Stars scored three times on the power play in the game, including twice in the third period when they outscored Minnesota 3-1.

The win over Minnesota was big for the Stars, who wrap up their five-game homestand with a back-to-back set against Los Angeles (Sunday) and Anaheim (Monday).

“There was energy even in the room today,” said Stars coach Gulutzan. “Getting the points was big. I thought we played strong against a good team that has played a lot of games. That gives you a little bit of confidence moving forward. Now, we’ve got another tough opponent. We seem to play better in the more pressure we get under and the tougher the opponent. That game gave us an injection of energy and a little boost of confidence.”

The Stars recalled F Toby Petersen from the Texas Stars of the AHL on Saturday.

Kari Lehtonen will start in goal for the Stars on Sunday.

Injuries: C Vernon Fiddler (charley horse) is day-to-day. F Ryan Garbutt (hand) is out.
