Friday update: Line changes, Chiasson moves up

The Stars took yesterday off and were back on the ice in Anaheim today as they prepare for tonight’s game against the Ducks.

“There are a lot of new faces in that locker room and there was a lot leading up to the trade deadline and after, obviously we were one of the more active clubs,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “With the new faces we just wanted to give the guys the day to go out and have lunch together, spend an afternoon and come ready here to play. It was a little deviation from what we’ve done in the past, but at this juncture we felt we wanted to try something different. We’ve played Anaheim three times, we want to get some points out of it.”

This will be the third straight game against Anaheim, which has won the first two by a combined score of 9-2.

Gulutzan is juggling his lines, including moving Alex Chiasson to right wing on a line with center Jamie Benn and Ray Whitney at left wing. Chiasson had a strong showing in his NHL debut against the Ducks Wednesday night.
