Quick Recap: Blackhawks 5, Stars 2

The Dallas Stars saw their five-game winning streak come to an end with a 5-2 loss at Chicago Monday night. The Stars, who fell behind 2-0 in the game, rallied to tie but the Blackhawks scored two goals in a 3:15 of the third period to take control of the game. Jamie Benn scored both goals for Dallas. Richard Bachman stopped 23 of 27 shots. The Stars (21-18-3) remain two points out of eighth place in the Western Conference and have six games remaining.

Stars lose Alex Chiasson to upper body injury

The Stars lost forward Alex Chiasson in the first minute of the second period when he was hit hard behind the Chicago net by Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson. Chiasson immediately skated off the ice and headed to the Dallas locker room. He did not return. The Stars said Chiasson had an upper body injury, but there were no other details on his status.

Jamie Benn ends goal scoring drought

Stars forward Jamie Benn snapped a seven-game goal scoring drought with his two goals in Monday’s game. Benn hadn’t scored since the March 31 game against Los Angeles. The two goals gave him 10 on the season, tying him for the team lead with Loui Eriksson and Ray Whitney.
