Stars-Red Wings Preview

Detroit Red Wings at Dallas Stars

Saturday April 27

6:00 p.m.

TV: NBC Sports Network

Radio: KTCK-1310 (AM)

About the Stars

The Stars (22-21-4) wrap up the regular season with Saturday’s game. They were eliminated from the playoff race when Detroit defeated Nashville Thursday. A short time later the Stars lost 3-1 to Columbus at American Airlines Center. It was the Stars’ fourth straight loss (0-3-1). Dallas has missed the playoffs five straight seasons.

“Well it hasn’t really sunk in yet, I don’t think,” Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen said after the loss. “It feels bad right now but I’m sure it feels even worse tomorrow.”

The Stars will be playing for pride and for their fans Saturday.

“We’ve got to go out and play hard. We’ve got to go out and play the right way,” said Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas. “The game doesn’t mean anything to us, but at the same time we owe it to our fans as our last game at home, and they deserve an honest effort. That’s what we are going to bring on Saturday.”

The Stars assigned LW Matt Fraser to the Texas Stars (AHL) on Friday.

Injuries: RW Alex Chiasson (shoulder) and D Aaron Rome (hip) are questionable.
