Dallas Stars appoint Tom Holy as Senior Director of Communications

Dallas Stars President and CEO Jim Lites announced today that Tom Holy has been named Senior Director of Communications.

Holy, 32, has spent the last eight seasons as a member of the San Jose Sharks media relations department. While with the Sharks, the team won the Dick Dillman Award, presented to the League's best media relations staff in each conference as voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers' Association, four times (2007-10) and was a finalist in the other three seasons the award was presented over that span.

During his time with the Sharks, Holy was integral in managing team access to all forms of media, specifically fostering a strong relationship with the team's television rightsholder, Comcast SportsNet California. In addition to building partnerships with various media outlets, he was responsible for the team's game notes, statistical archives and photography library.

Prior to his eight seasons in San Jose, Holy spent three seasons (2002-05) in the Sharks organization as Public Relations Manager of the Cleveland Barons, then the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League. There, he managed all public relations functions, moderated the team's website and worked on both community and sales initiatives.

Holy, a Cleveland, Ohio native, received his bachelor's degree in Education and Human Development (specialization in Sport Management) from Bowling Green State University in 2002. In his time there, he completed internships with both the Cleveland Indians and Fox Sports Net Ohio.

Jason Rademan, who served as the team's Director of Communications this past season, will now exclusively continue his role as Director of Team Services.

Holy will begin his tenure with the Stars on June 27.
