Stars-Canucks Preview
Previewing Sunday\'s tilt between the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks.

Dallas Stars at Vancouver Canucks
Sunday, November 17
7 p.m.
TV: Fox Sports Southwest
Radio: The Ticket 1310 AM/96.7 FM

About the Stars

The Stars (10-7-2) ran their road winning streak to five games with a 7-3 win over Calgary on Thursday. Jamie Benn had six points (one goal, five assists) and Tyler Seguin registered five points (four goals, one assist) to lead the Dallas offense.

“Lately we’ve had some success on the road and I think it is because we are playing a simple game, and playing the right way,” Benn said. “And we’ve been getting some great goaltending in those games.”

Kari Lehtonen, who stopped 25 of 28 shots in Thursday’s win, is expected to start in goal for the Stars Sunday. It will be his 12th straight start. The Stars are 7-2-2 since Lehtonen returned from a lower body injury.

LW Ray Whitney skated with the Stars on Saturday, but remains out with a lower body injury. The Stars are expected to go with the same lineup as Thursday’s game in Calgary.

Injuries: LW Ray Whitney (lower body) is out.

About the Canucks

The Canucks (11-7-3) lost their third straight game, falling 2-1 in overtime to San Jose at Rogers Arena on Thursday night. The Canucks had a 1-0 lead late in the game, but the Sharks tied it with 1:05 left in regulation on a Tomas Hertl goal and then won in overtime when Dan Boyle scored on the power play.

"I thought they got a really lucky break on their tying goal and they get a power play in OT and that's it," Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo said. "That's how close the NHL is. We're a minute away from playing what I thought was a really great game, and all of a sudden it turns into a loss."

It was the fifth loss in the last seven games (2-3-2) for Vancouver.

Forward Jannik Hansen, who has missed the last ten games with a shoulder injury, is expected to return for Sunday evening’s game.

Injuries: F Jannik Hansen (shoulder) is probable. F Jordan Schroeder (ankle) and F Dale Weise (leg) are out.
