Stars-Blues Preview
Previewing Saturday night\'s tilt between the Dallas Stars and the St. Louis Blues.

Dallas Stars at St. Louis Blues
Saturday, November 23
7:00 p.m.
TV: TXA-21
Radio: The Ticket 1310 AM/96.7 FM

About the Stars

The Stars (11-8-2) lost 3-2 to the New York Rangers at American Airlines Center Thursday, running their home winless streak to four games (0-2-2). The Stars, who outshot the Rangers 43-27 in the game, were tied 1-1 going into the third period, but gave up two quick goals early in the final frame to give the Rangers control of the game.

“It was a 1-1 game going into the third period. We've got to find a way to get those points. We didn't, so it's disappointing,” said Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas.

The Stars will now head back on the road, where they have won six straight games. They’ll be facing the Blues, who own the best points percentage in the NHL.

“They’ve got a big team, a good team and they’re really strong on the puck,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff.

“It’s tough to get inside. Maybe the best defense in the league, or close to it. It’s going to be an opportunity to see where we are at.”

It will be the first time the Stars will play against former captain Brenden Morrow, who signed with St. Louis in September.

The Stars traded LW Lane MacDermid to Calgary Friday for a sixth round pick in 2014.

Injuries: LW Ray Whitney (groin) is questionable.

About the Blues

The Blues (15-3-3) are coming off a 3-2 shootout victory in Boston on Thursday. Derek Roy scored in regulation and then scored the deciding goal in the shootout. Blues coach Ken Hitchcock saw the contest against the Eastern Conference leading Bruins as a measuring stick game.

“Well I think if that’s the level, that’s a pretty high level,” Hitchcock said. “I think we know there’s another level out there, and I think going home and getting ready for it is going to help us. So we got the information we needed.”

The Blues, who are 7-1-1 over the last nine games, are off to the best start in franchise history through the first 21 games.

The Blues went 2-1-0 on their three-game road trip. They play their next two at home, where they are 9-1-2.

Injuries: F Patrik Berglund (upper body) is probable. D Jordan Leopold (finger) is out.
