Stars forward Ryan Garbutt did not play in the third period of Tuesday’s 4-3 win in Chicago with what could be classified as a lower body injury.
Garbutt was hit in the foot/lower leg area by a shot off the stick of Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook in the first period, missed a few shifts, came back and played and then sat out the third period.
"He's going to get re-evaluated,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “First indication is he should be OK. I'm hoping that first indication is right."
Eventful night for Roussel
Stars forward Antoine Roussel had an eventful game. He dropped the gloves with Chicago’s Andrew Shaw for a spirited fight in the first period.
“I wish that fight could have gone for a minute and we would have known who was the toughest,” said Roussel. “Maybe next game.”
He took an elbowing penalty that led to Chicago’s first goal and jump started the Blackhawks comeback in the game. He got decked on a big hit by Chicago defenseman Michal Rozsival at one point in the game and then returned the favor, nailing Rozsival later. And, of course, he had the play of the night, scoring on a penalty shot.
“It was an emotional game,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “For him, he got in a fight, he took a penalty you don’t want him to take and then he came back and scored on the penalty shot to give us the win.”
